We spend a colossal amount of our time at work. In fact when you think about it, if you are working a forty hour week (or more), you probably spend more time with your work colleagues than you do with your loved ones! And that is something serious to think about…
Work is important from many different aspects – money (obviously) – but also for our sense of self-esteem, our self-image, our self-worth, friendships, self-development, our feeling of contribution to the world, etc. etc.
Therefore, given that our work is so vitally important to us, our career path should not be taken lightly. How many of us spend our days slogging away in the office doing something we hate, and/or staring out the window and living for the weekends? This is no way to live!
Now I’m not saying give up your job and head for the hills – nice, though, if you can! What I am saying is that given that our career is so central in our lives we need to take the time and make the effort to make sure that the work we are doing not only pays the bills but also helps us use our talents, feel fulfilled and helps us to grow to be all that we can be. In a nutshell, that it makes us happy!
Of course, like most things it’s easier said than done. Fortunately as a Life Coach I am able to help! The first thing to do is to explore what work you really want to do – the sort of work you would choose to do even if you didn’t need to work.
Next, together, we examine how realistic your expectations are, how you can meet those expectations and the very many options available to you. With a personalised game plan under your arm you can start looking for that great career and stop looking out the window, wasting your life day dreaming.
You can be sure that at LifeBoss Coaching I am with you every step of the way (or up every rung of that ladder!) to that new and magnificent career. Your future starts here now.
